Rhonda Bracey runs her technical communication business (http://www.cybertext.com.au) from her home in regional Western Australia. Her passion for improving 'unfriendly' user interfaces meant that she has taken on the mantle of 'user interface expert' in the small software companies where she was the lone technical writer and often the only user advocate. For the past three years, Rhonda has been the technical editor on a $43b project for a global oil and gas company; in that role, she has edited more than 1000 complex health, environment, and safety documents written by numerous authors.

Cecilia Dobner has been working in the localization industry for more than 10 years. She is currently leading the Autodesk Publishing Technologies Process Analysts group, with focus on the collaboration with the User Assistance development teams, aiming to guarantee an optimum customer experience at global level. In her role Cecilia provides globalization guidance to help design new learning strategies based on tools and processes to ensure that the content source is localization ready, and that the publication technologies are localization enabled.

Matthew has 25 years of experience as a user assistance professional in the software industry. He now runs UA Europe, a UK-based training and consulting company that specializes in user assistance design and technology. Matthew holds a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education from Bristol University in the UK. Last year he was the winner of the prestigious Horace Hockley award that is presented annually by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC). Matthew is currently a visiting lecturer on the MA Technical Communication course at Portsmouth University, and is also a certified instructor for RoboHelp, Flare, Captivate, and WebWorks ePublisher.

Leah Guren is the owner/operator of Cow TC. She has been active in the field of technical communication since 1980 as a writer, manager, Help author, and consultant. She now devotes her time to consulting and teaching courses and seminars in technical communication, primarily in Israel and Europe. Her clients include some of the top hi-tech companies internationally, including Intel, IBM, and Microsoft. Her usability work focuses heavily on cultural and linguistic issues, including her research on BDBL (bidirectional bilingual) website content. Joe has been involved with software documentation development since 1984. Together with Scott Boggan and David Farkas, Joe authored two editions of the popular and pioneering book Developing Online Help for Windows. He has also taught online Help courses at the University of Washington, UC Santa Cruz, and Bellevue Community College. Joe was the President of STC Puget Sound Chapter from 2006-2008 and remains on the board in charge of gathering chapter sponsorships. Jan Wright is an indexer and taxonomist who has been working with documentation since 1991, specializing in help indexing, single sourcing, embedded indexing, tagging, metadata, taxonomies and technical subject matter. Her client list includes Autodesk, Microsoft, Visio, Apple, and other companies. In 2009, she earned the ASI/H.W. Wilson Award for Excellence in Indexing for her index to Real World Adobe InDesign CS3, by Olav Martin Kvern and David Blatner, the first time the award had been presented to a technical manual. Last year, she created the first “virtual coffee shop” for indexers, the Indexers Network at indexing.ning.com.
