Since its inception in 1993, the Annual Conference sponsored by WritersUA has been the premiere gathering for software user assistance professionals. More than 10,000 people have been in attendance from two dozen nations. The 2011 Conference featured over 50 speakers and 70 sessions over four days. The 2012 Conference takes place March 11th - March 14th in Memphis, Tennessee.
In preparation for the 2012 Conference, we are inviting you to submit a proposal for conducting a session. If you are a regular conference attendee this is your opportunity to move to the front of the room. If you haven't participated before you'll find an exciting atmosphere absent from many traditional conferences. Presenting a session at the WritersUA Conference provides you with rewarding exposure both professionally and financially. This is your opportunity to share the stage with some of the brightest lights in technical communication and software development.
We look forward to your participation in Memphis!

Joe Welinske
President, WritersUA Conference for Software User Assistance

General Conference Sessions on Monday, March 12th through Wednesday, March 14th, are 60 minutes in length. A few spots are available for the presentation of half-day seminars on Sunday, March 11th.
Subject areas include Web-based Help, Video Creation, Usability and UI Design, DITA, Information Architecture, User-centered Design, eLearning, iPhone and Mobile UA, Content Development, Windows Help, Open Standards, Authoring Tools, and Emerging Technologies. We are also interested in case studies, research studies, and survey results. All software platforms are of interest.
The unifying aspect of the WritersUA Conference is that it is dedicated to software user assistance. More general online documentation is outside of our interest area.

Compensation
Conference speakers receive entry to all events Monday-Wednesday. Speaking fees are based on experience and the length of the session. Compensation offers will be made upon acceptance of your proposal. Speakers are responsible for their own travel expenses.
Greater weight in selection will be given to your proposal if you are not presenting the same or similar content at other conferences in the six months prior to or after the 2012 WritersUA event. For further information about this, contact Joe Welinske.
