HyperSTE 2.4 - New version released of the leading quality assurance software for technical content

June 20, 2007 - Tedopres has released version 2.4. of HyperSTE and HyperSTE DMT (Dictionary Maintenance Tool), the leading quality assurance software for technical content. HyperSTE increases the quality of technical documentation and reduces the costs for translations and technical publications by ensuring clear and consistent terminology and style. HyperSTE ensures compliance with Simplified Technical English, the international standard for writing clear and unambiguous technical content.

HyperSTE reports: XML and compliance rating
HyperSTE reports are now available as either Excel or XML files. Also, HyperSTE reports now include a compliance rating, so that you can get instant insight into the level of compliance for a whole range of documents, based on the use of approved vocabulary and style.

Support for multilingual information
HyperSTE now allows storing and showing translations of any word in the database in other languages, turning the database into a multilingual dictionary. The HyperSTE information window will show available translations of words as desired by the user.

In addition, HyperSTE DMT allows defining these languages and the data (one or more translations for a word, each with an optional definition). Also, the DMT allows import and export from and into the following formats, which are used by various translation software packages and conform to industry standards:

Sentence memory
When checking, if a sentence is found in the document that is identical to one of the source sentences in the database, HyperSTE will offer to replace it with the target sentence found in the database. This will further improve consistency and save time.

HyperSTE as a terminology checker
As HyperSTE allows you to customize which rules you would like to apply to your documents, HyperSTE can easily be converted to check documents for correct and consistent terminology throughout your organization. This has proven to be very useful for improving legacy documentation in a quick and efficient manner.

Improved usability and performance
HyperSTE now offers even better performance on large documents and incorporates additional functionality as suggested by some of our customers.

  Fully ASD-STE100 compliant. ASD-STE100 is required by other standards, including S1000D and ATA iSpec 2200.
• For all industries
  Based on the industry standard for technical writing, ASD-STE100, but configurable for Simplified Technical English, Controlled English and Plain Language to facilitate any industry.
• Customizable and configurable
  To meet your specific technical documentation needs, HyperSTE allows rules to be added or disabled (e.g. incorporate company style guides, allow for step by step conversion of legacy data, etc.).
• Profile management
  Apply different sets of rules to different parts or types of documents. HyperSTE can thus for example differentiate between procedural and descriptive text.
• Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  Create extensive reports (Excel and XML) for validation purposes, including compliance rating
• Share HyperSTE interactive feedback
